Jayne Acutt

Deputy Principal, Ipswich Girls Grammar School (Finalist of Best Professional Learning Program 2019 at the Australian Education Awards)

Mrs Jayne Acutt joined Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School in 1996 as a teacher of English, History and Drama. Since then, Jayne’s focus has been in the area of student wellbeing, moving from Middle School Coordinator into the Dean of Students position, followed by her appointment to the role of Deputy Principal & Head of Senior School in 2016.

In 2019, Jayne was appointed to the position of Deputy Principal. Jayne chairs the School’s Quality Teaching Team. The Quality Teaching Team is responsible for managing teaching staff’s professional development in order to maintain high performing staff at the School.

Jayne was named Queensland Positive Teacher of the Year in 2013 for her work engaging with, and challenging students to be the best version of themselves. Jayne is an incredibly well-liked and respected professional, with many past students of the School crediting Jayne with positively impacting on their education. Jayne continues to lead and mentor staff and students alike with her positive and energetic attitude.
