Principal, Mentone Grammar (Finalist of Innovation in Learning Environment Design 2019 at the Australian Education Awards)
Mal attended Mentone Grammar School as a student, graduating from Year 12 in 1981. Mal went on to study an Accounting Degree at RMIT with Majors in Accounting and Economics and worked in the Finance Industry for two years. In 1985 Mal studied a Diploma of Education in order to follow his passion for teaching and returned to Mentone Grammar from 1986 to 1996. From 1997 to 1999 he taught at Girton Grammar in Bendigo.
He then returned to Mentone Grammar as Deputy Headmaster in 2000. Mal is now serving his 14th year as the dedicated and passionate Principal of Mentone Grammar. He has completed a Masters of Educational Leadership and Management and is a Member of the Australian College for Educators, Australian College for Educational Leaders and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
